Matt - Thanks for tip on Mai Tai, will have to give that a go. I'm looking forward to the Smith & Cross too, tasty stuff.

Lewis - I've only been to Hide a few times, but they do indeed make a mean Martinez.

Ahhh yes, Antica Formula is awesome stuff. Wasn't a fan of vermouth until I tried that and Noilly Prat Ambre straight. If you want a good Martinez that uses Antica, Hide Bar near to London Bridge is an excellent one.

I'm not sure why you didn't come up with that. I mean, it's got that lovely funk to it that I always associate with great Jamaican mixing rums (yeah, I know it's from Trinidad). I'm really eager to get my hands on a bottle of Haus Alpenz's new Smith & Cross Jamaican Rum as well. That's another that needs to be used in Mai Tais, Navy Grogs, and swizzles galore.

Incidentally, I highly recommend using the Ibis in a Mai Tai - either 1 oz with another oz of Rhum Agricole, or just a full 2 oz of it if you want a mai tai that jumps up and grabs your attention.

Also works wonders in a Navy Grog.
