Tales of the Cocktail 2008

Last weekend I booked my hotel and flights, and I’m very excited to say I will be attending Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans this year. It’s a long trip over the Atlantic to get there, but I can’t wait! The chance to spend five days immersed in the world of mixed drinks, and to meet many of my fellow cocktail bloggers, was too much to pass up. Expect to read much more about this over the coming months.

Unfortunately there are no direct flights from London to New Orleans, but every cloud has a silver lining and this means I will be travelling via New York and spending a few days in Manhattan either side of TotC. If anyone in the NYC area fancies a cocktail or three with me in the days before or after TotC do drop me a line. Bar recommendations are also welcome, although I already have a fairly good idea of some of the places I want to visit.

Things are likely to be a bit quiet here this week as I prepare for an exciting series of posts next week. I had hoped to have everything ready last month, but it has involved a fair amount of organisation to get things in place. Anyway, more about that at the weekend – I’ll keep you on tenterhooks until then…

Yay! It sounds like we cocktail bloggers will be taking over the place this year…

If it’s any consolation, there are no direct flights from San Francisco to New Orleans, either… I think the tourism fall-off after Katrina knocked out a lot of the old routes.

Glad we’ll have a chance to meet you this summer :)
