I’m currently wading my way through various cocktails using numerous orange liqueurs for The Great Oh Gosh! Orange Liqueur Showdown, and hope to have the results and final round-up of the comparison published next week.
I had hoped it would be sooner but, unlike a neat liqueur which I don’t have too much trouble merely tasting rather than drinking, to make a Margarita or Pegu Club and not enjoy it is something approaching sacrilege for me. Unfortunately this means even with “mini” cocktails there is a limit to how many I can sample in one night. It’s a tough life.
In other news though…
As I’ve previously mentioned, in July I will be heading over the pond to New Orleans to attend Tales of the Cocktail, the annual event dedicated to mixed drinks. If the idea of five days immersed in the world of cocktails hasn’t already grabbed you, take a look at the list of events and people attending. If you’re still not interested then, frankly, why are you on this site?
As you may have already read, my fellow drinks bloggers and I will be covering the event over at Blogging Tales of the Cocktail 2008. During the next few months we will be previewing the events taking place and when it gets to July, covering our experiences in New Orleans. I’m very pleased to be taking part, and whether you are coming along too or just following the experience from your computer you would do well to keep an eye on the site.
See you in New Orleans!
