Last month Oh Gosh! turned two years old and I gave one lucky reader the chance to win the full range of Bob’s Bitters simply by commenting on a post. I’ve been a little tardy in selecting a winner, but this evening one lucky commenter was drawn (or rather, selected from the database, but that doesn’t sound quite as glamourous), and I’m pleased to announce that… rum roll please… Brad from Willmar, Minnesota. Congraulations Brad!
In other news…
Amazingly it’s less than a month until I head off to America for another Tales of the Cocktail. My fellow bloggers and I have been previewing the sessions over at Talesblog and if you’re struggling to choose which sessions to pick (and the choices are very tough this year) I highly suggest you pay a visit. For those of you unable to make the trip fear not, we will be chronicling the events as they happen at Talesblog, and I have some exciting things in the works for Oh Gosh! TV while I’m in NOLA.
On my way down to the Big Easy I will be stopping off in Washington DC, a city whose bars I’ve heard much about. I’m really looking forward to catching up with the locals as well as a certain Kaiser Penguin who’ll also be in town, and checking out some of DC’s finer drinking establishments. If any readers spot me in DC or NOLA be sure to say hi – I’ll be the curly headed guy in the floral print shirt, camera in one hand and cocktail in the other.
And in case you think you’ll have to wait until July for anything interesting to crop up here, fear not – episodes of Oh Gosh! TV featuring the full sessions by Hidetsugu Ueno and Salvatore Calabrese at Cocktails & Spirits 09, plus drinks by Stephan Berg and Gonçalo De Sousa Monteiro from the Traveling Mixologists party at Curio Parlor are all forthcoming. All that, plus I have some new product reviews in the works, some great new cocktails, and the long overdue roundup of the Why oh Rye? comparison. Now I just have to find the time to get it all done!
